Disclaimer: Meyer is the sick fuck behind this. Not me. Thank God.

I was at my wits’ end. My hand felt like I’d smashed it against a cement wall, my former best friend wasn’t the least bit apologetic or even seemed to care that I was hurt, and he was still  going on and on about how that kiss was the Best Thing Ever.

And now he’d followed me into the house, uninvited. I was about to lose it.

“Jacob, GO HOME,” I said loudly and clearly. I wanted to push him back outside, but he’d probably take that as a signal to kiss me again. My lips still felt bruised, and I shivered every time I replayed the incident in my head. It had felt so....wrong, like an invasion. And yet, Jacob was acting like he couldn’t have done it better.

“Bella, come on, you liked it. Just admit it,” Jacob said, that same hundred-watt smile of pure arrogance on his face. He glanced at my hand and his smile faded just a little. “How’s your hand?”

I scoffed. “What do you care? It’s a testament to what an awesome date rapist you are.”

Charlie must have heard me, because I heard the couch springs creak in the living room and he walked into the kitchen with a frown on his face.

“Bella, what’s going on?” he asked. He eyed Jacob warily. “Did I hear somebody say ‘date rapist?’”

Jacob turned his shit-eating grin onto my father. “No, Charlie. Bella’s just overreacting.”

“He kissed me and I didn’t want him to!” I cried. “It hurt. And when I punched him, I broke my hand and he acted like it was the best thing ever! Then he followed me inside and I didn’t even invite him, and he won’t leave!”

Charlie’s expression had been growing darker with every word, and he stepped up to me and examined my hand. When I winced, he put his arm around me.

“Grab some frozen peas from the freezer, Bells. I’ll take you to the hospital.”

“I can drive her,” Jacob butted in. I drew back and Charlie stepped in front of me, his posture shifting to what I recognized as his professional-law-enforcement pose.

“You have done more than enough, young man,” Charlie said in a low voice. “You assaulted my daughter, and you caused her bodily harm. That’s enough to make me think you might need to spend the night in jail.”

Jacob’s jaw dropped, and I felt a vindictive thrill at the image of Jacob in a cell.

“But--no, Charlie, it wasn’t like that!” he protested. “She--she totally wanted to kiss me, too!”

“I did not!” I said hotly. “You grabbed me and I told you to let me go, and then you were all ‘You can have me, bad behavior or not.’ And then you kissed me.”

Charlie’s fists were flexing at his sides by now. “That sounds pretty non-consensual to me. Forcing a kiss on a girl isn’t just ‘bad boy’ behavior, Jacob, that’s outright assault.”

Jacob’s grin had long since disappeared, and now he was starting to sweat. Good, I thought as I headed for the freezer.

“Charlie...I can’t go to jail,” Jacob pleaded. “I didn’t do anything to hurt Bella, I swear. I love her. I would never--”

“You got a funny way of showing love,” Charlie interrupted. “If you really cared about my daughter, you’d respect her personal boundaries. And you’d take ‘no’ for an answer. Now either you apologize to my daughter right now and promise us both that it’ll never happen again, or I get my cuffs and drop you off at the station on my way to the hospital.”

Jacob was floundering, looking appealingly at me, of all people. I flipped him off behind Charlie’s back with my good hand.

Shoulders slumping, he lowered his head and mumbled, “M’ sorry, Chief Swan.”

“Didn’t hear that,” Charlie said, cupping a hand around his ear. “Speak up.”

“I’m sorry, Chief Swan,” Jacob said more clearly. “And I’m sorry, Bella. I won’t do that again, ever, I promise.”

I didn’t believe him for a second, and by the way Charlie “hmph”ed, he wasn’t entirely convinced either.

“Go home,” Charlie said gruffly. “Your father and I are going to have a discussion about this tomorrow.”

Casting me one last pleading look, which I ignored, Jacob left. Charlie turned to me, concern all over his face.

“I thought Jacob was your friend, baby,” he said softly. “I thought he was trustworthy.”

I nodded, tears coming to my eyes.

“I did, too.”

Fucking chapter fifteen...

Girl, you realize I've gotta write Charlie's appropriate IN-CHARACTER response to this whole thing as well, right? I think it's our duty. As a testament to how a father would really react to the moment his daughter came home with a broken hand and her molester following her into her home.

I like how you handled this. I like the mental image of Jacob properly cowed in front of an angry Charlie Swan while Bella flips him off. That asshole.

Thank you! It was a pleasure. I look forward to reading your own response to this chapter, too! *Cheers you on*

Hell, my first version of this involved Bella getting Charlie's gun and firing two warning shots at Jacob's head. But I figured it was time Charlie took a stand.
