French Lessons

Title: French Lessons
Author: Melissa Treglia (gnosticdiva)
Fandom: Fifty Shades Trilogy
Word Count: 4636
Rating: R
Inspiration: Mervin's spitefic Lucky Number Thirteen, wherein Ana gets some sense talked into her by Sharon, the submissive that Christian injured during a suspension scene... as well as the flurry of comments on das_sporking that resulted from the revelation that Christian keeps blackmail material of his former subs. Of fifteen subs, there HAS to be one that would not be threatened by such a shady tactic.

Warnings: Rated R for canon origins--includes disturbing canon themes, discussion/depictions of BDSM and related Lifestyle/kinks, implied stalking/gaslighting.

Summary: You've met Sharon, our lucky 13. Now meet Jacqueline Bouchard, former submissive #4.

He can be very harsh at times, in his way, but... I am told he has gotten worse since he was with me.Collapse )

Fifty Shades of Debate (2/2)

Title: Fifty Shades of Debate
Author: Melissa Treglia (gnosticdiva)
Fandom: Fifty Shades Trilogy/Griffin Unbowed (homebrew)
Word Count: 2195 (for part two only)
Rating: R
Author's Note: See Part 1 for explanation and warnings.

Summary: Griffin Blasko, protagonist of Griffin Unbowed, vs. Christian Grey of the Fifty Shades trilogy.

Self-made man, my ass.Collapse )

Fifty Shades of Debate (1/2)

Title: Fifty Shades of Debate
Author: Melissa Treglia (gnosticdiva)
Fandom: Fifty Shades Trilogy/Griffin Unbowed (homebrew)
Word Count: 2487 (for part one only)
Rating: R
Inspiration: You really have to ask? Well, I've done this before with the Twilight vs. Forever Knight Debate Trilogy, but I realized I hadn't done a Fifty Shades debate fic yet. Also, I wanted to see what my original characters (Laila and Griffin) would make of Ana and Christian. Especially as Griffin's got a (somewhat) similar backstory to Christian. Turns out, my two are less than impressed by the Greys (shocker). Incidentally, this quickly got more serious than your typical debate fic, so apologies in advance if you wanted the funsies.
Warnings: Rated R for canon origins--includes disturbing canon themes and some strong language.

Summary: Laila Chadevsky (from my and my-coauthor's original vampire novel Griffin Unbowed) vs. Anastasia Steele-Grey of the Fifty Shades trilogy.

Sex is always dirty if you do it right.Collapse )

Two TV Episode Recommendations...

Anyone else watch Criminal Minds? Because I recently got into the fandom and watching it has reminded me of Fifty Shades of Grey on more than one occasion. And not in a good way, if there even is such a thing.

Spoilers for the episodes will be put beneath spoiler cuts.

Fandom(s): Criminal Minds
Title: Season 4 Episode 14, "Cold Comfort"
Rating: R
What it reminded me of: Christian's wangst about his dead mother.
Warnings: [Spoiler (click to open)]Violence, character death, necrophilia, generally disturbing themes.
Summary: The BAU are called to a case where women are being abducted, killed and embalmed, with their bodies being held after death. [Spoiler (click to open)]The culprit is revealed to a man named Roderick Glass. He was pretty much raised by his nanny, who died suddenly while his parents were away. He was left with her body for several days, and would curl up and sleep beside it, draping its arm over himself. When he abducted women, he would force them into the role of his nanny before embalbing them and keeping their corpses to have sex with.

Bonus? It takes place in Washington state.

And if that isn't enough nightmare fuel, have another.

Fandom(s): Criminal Minds
Title: Season 7 Episode 20, "The Company"
Rating: R
What it reminded me of: Christian's bullshit contracts and, generally, how he treats Ana.
Warnings: [Spoiler (click to open)]Domestic violence, abuse, brainwashing, very heavily implied rape over a long time, abduction/imprisonment of children.
Summary: Morgan's sister believes that she sees their presumed-dead cousin, and calls Morgan and the team in to investigate. [Spoiler (click to open)]The sister is alive - she's just been held captive by a man for the last eight years. He's part of a group of men, all of whom are abusive degradations to the name of humanity, who keep women captive by two means. First is threats of 'The Company' and what they will do to the woman and her family should she try to leave; this 'company' is fictitious, but the women don't know that. Secondly, they have children with the women and then keep these children captive as, essentially, hostages for the women's behaviour. Throw in some bullshit contracts, a little bit of non-consensual physical violence, and immediate lawyering up in the face of a domestic abuse charge, and all I could see was Christian Grey.

A slightly less creepy bonus, but the actor who plays the perp in this one is awesome, and nowadays better known for The Walking Dead.

Word Count: 950
Inspiration: das_mervin made a joke that Bella is a dementor in her sporking of New Moon.

Jerks Aren't Hot

Author: frostedoverrose
Inspiration: I was reading some recaps. Gehayi and Ket said that they would love it if some girl didn't stare open mouthed and get flustered at the sight of Christian. So I got this idea.
Words:1,131
Summary: Caroline Frost goes in for a interview with Christian Grey. Thankfully she decides to listen to her instinct and get out of there, but not without some words.
Author's Note: I'm sure the timeline takes place somewhere in Fifty Shades of Grey or something, but it's in recent times. I think it's a sort of crossover. But I'll let you figure out which crossover. I did research some interview questions.

Fic Rec: Lions Eat Lambs

Title: Lions Eat Lambs
Author: Raggdolly
Fandom(s): Twilight/The Most Dangerous Game (implied)
Rating: R or NC-17, depending on how strong your stomach is.
Word Count: ~45,000
Warnings: Vampire violence, strong language, some sensuality.
Summary: "A camping expedition goes awry when Bella's friends disappear. While searching for them, she stumbles upon the manor of Edward Cullen, unaware that she is about to become a pawn in his dangerous game - a game she can't afford to lose. AU/OOC/Vamp & Human/"Darkward"" -- Raggdolly

Note from Reccer: I'm recommending this for those who prefer dangerous/nasty/bloodthirsty vampires, particularly those folks who find Edward's "vigilante" days more believeable than his love for Bella. If you believe Edward is a complete psycho and wished he'd just OWN THAT SHIT, this'll be right up your alley.

Fic Rec: Masks

Title: Masks
Author: light4dawn
Fandom(s): Twilight

Word Count: 8,000
Summary: This is a realistic version of what happens after the happy ending.  What happens after Breaking Dawn? Did Jacob really forget all about his tribe, his pack and his love for Bella because he imprinted on her daughter? Is Renesmee truly the key to Jacob's happiness? Can Jake and Bells really still be friends?

Poor Unfortunate Souls, Chapter Six: Anoxic

Title: Poor Unfortunate Souls
Fandom(s):Fifty Shades Trilogy
Rating: R
Word Count: This Chapter: 4,431, Everything: 44,714.
Inspiration: Blame gehayi, people. She mentioned in the comments way back around chapter 4 of Fifty Shades Darker that she'd love to see a) Grey properly prosecuted for his crimes, b) some kickass ladies taking him down, c) Grey pitted against an awesome wizard, or d) all of the above. This is option d.
Warnings: For the whole fanfic: Discussions of: rape, stalking, emotional abuse, psychological abuse, gaslighting, financial abuse, and identity theft. Mentions of possible child abuse, and malpracticing doctors and psychiatrists, domestic abuse, and wrongful imprisonment. Christian Grey demonstrates signs of either being a malignant narcissist or having antisocial personality disorder. Elena Lincoln is the same pedophile that she is in canon. Nearly everyone else in this story has PTSD. Discussions of other mental illnesses. Offscreen Violence. Sexual acts native to the Fifty Shades canon.
Chapter Specific Warnings: Suicidal ideation, mentions of past rape and abuse, offscreen character death, emotional flashbacks, Christian Grey is an awful man
Summary: Kate decides to hire a pair of detectives to investigate Christian Grey, in the vain hope that she can find a way to keep Ana safe from him. The detectives have no idea what a mess they've just signed up for, but it's not just Grey they'll end up investigating, though his crimes are many.
